Applications

Dust and particulate matter

Particulate matter (airborne particles of solid or liquid material) originates from various manufacturing processes. Particle sizes range from respirable fine particles of < 1µm up to 10µm (PM10). Particles of this size affect the complete respiratory tract including nose, throat, secondary and terminal bronchi as well as the alveoli. Scientific research has revealed an association with subsequent damages such as inflammation of the respiratory tract, asthma, allergies, alteration of the lung function and the mucous membrane and even lung cancer.
