TBH switches to green electricity in February 2010
Being a company which puts a high value on sustainability and the
protection of health and environment, TBH GmbH will switch to green
electricity of regenerative generation provided by EWS by February 1,
2010.
The high-quality workmanship of TBH products has always contributed to
resource conservation. To support measures against environmental damage
and climate change, TBH will in future work without electricity derived
from burning of fossil fuels or nuclear power. The new supplier will be
ElektrizitÃswerke SchÃau. Electricity provided by EWS consists of
climate-friendly combined heat and power generation and, by more than
90%, of renewable energy sources such as wind, water and solar power.
For TBH, this means another consistent step to continuing sustainable
and climate-friendly work.
Already since construction of the present company building, TBH has
been getting heat from the biomass district heating station
Straubenhardt, Biotherm. Biotherm uses eco-friendly wood energy to
produce district heat out of wood that comes from regional agriculture
and forestry. Summing up results in a particular small climate
footprint of TBH. The declared aim of carbon neutrality will also be
pursued in future. Consequently, it is planned to equip the building's
roof with a photovoltaic power plant.
Hence, it is not only the highly productive and effecient products, but
also the energy TBH gets that protects man, environment and climate.
